Dale Duncan

The Hand That Held The Reins

from the Back To The Bush album.

THE HAND THAT HELD THE REINS is the fifth single release from Dale’s sensational album ‘BACK TO THE BUSH’. The song, co-written by TONY SARGEANT & DALE DUNCAN, tells the true story of BUDDY TYSON, an expert Aboriginal Bushman, Jackaroo & Australian Champion Bronc Rider with a body now ravaged by his life long ago.

His mind wanders back to his days in the saddle as a stockman – where now they use choppers and bikes – not the stockhorse they used in his day. So he sits on the Stockyard rails and wisely offers words of advice, ‘to take it quietly son, there’s no need to shout’ as, ‘he’s forgotten more than they’ll ever know’. He had learned from the hard men and now he holds his memories in THE HAND THAT HELD THE REINS.
