Hero Just The Same

from the 50 Years In Oz album.

HERO JUST THE SAME is the third song off ALLAN CASWELL’s Award winning album 50 YEARS IN OZ. Caswell wrote HERO JUST THE SAME with Billy Bridge on a writing trip to Melbourne. It is based on the true story of Billy’s wife Rebecca Lee Nye’s grandfather, Errol, who was once a bronc rider in the rodeo. After several injuries, Errol’s wife Ruth put her foot down and said, “No more bronc riding”. Errol went back and signed on as the rodeo clown … which made sense right? Caswell has written a number of rodeo songs over the years and this follows the theme of KING OF THE RODEO and WHERE DO OLD COWBOYS GO?

50 YEARS IN OZ was produced by Roger Corbett.
