Great Mighty Murray

from the CD Single.

LLOYD M CLARKE, a 2016 TSA Award winner, is a mature balladeer raised on easy listening, country and popular folk music, whose early song writing included love songs for his High School sweetheart who soon became his wife. After receiving his Grandfather’s acoustic Spanish guitar and a few lessons, he soon discovered a love for crafting melody and words together.   In 2007 a turning point in his life brought him to a deeper desire to leave a legacy of all that is dear and important to him.

His first single, GREAT MIGHTY MURRAY, crafted while sitting on the deck of the Emmy Lou Paddle Steamer when leaving the Port of Echuca and cruising down the Murray, is inspired by his love of the Murray River Region, his own connection to the river and the lives who have depended on it. "Let us sing of its history and hope for the future, from the upper most reaches to the lower strong tides".

“I am very concerned for the waterways that have been, and are, affected by mining. This song may just beg folk to think about what we have and not just bow down to large companies exploiting our natural resources”.
