Woman Waiting

from the There's A Woman Waiting album.

ROB IMESON, a singer/songwriter from Yamba, northern NSW, graduated from The Academy of Country Music in 2010 and he has been working hard at the craft of song-writing ever since.

In December 2014, Rob released his debut album, THERE’S A WOMAN WAITING.

Determined to build up a fan base, one fan at a time, Rob packed up his family in February 2015 and embarked on a musical tour around Australia to promote the album. This has taken them from festivals on the Gold Coast, to house concerts near Brisbane, north to caravan parks around Townsville, and as far west as Charters Towers, Julia Creek and Cloncurry. Currently, they are on the road heading towards Darwin where homesteads and caravan parks await.

WOMAN WAITING tells a story inspired by a visit to the memorial of HMAS Sydney II in 2009. The Sydney was an Australian warship that went down off the WA coast on the 19th November 1941. All 645 Australian sailors on board lost their lives in a short battle with the German Raider, HSK Kormoran. The powerful symbol of loss Rob felt at the statue of The Waiting Woman at the memorial in Geraldton, WA was the catalyst for the song.

This track is a great example of a songwriter just beginning to make his mark as a true Australian storyteller.
