The Bobkatz
The Gallery
from the Dust (Forthcoming) album.
The Gallery is the first single from THE BOBKATZ’ forthcoming 6th album entitled Dust and the follow-up to their National #1 single, Reelin’ One In. The Gallery was inspired by songwriter GARRY KOEHLER’s visit to the ancient Indigenous cave art at Queensland’s magnificent Carnarvon Gorge. The song also throws up a question as to whether the handprints on the rock may now home a new meaning, not just an ochre painting but maybe a call for help … maybe the spirits in the rock are reaching out to us? It is a tribute to Australia’s Indigenous People, the first fathers of this country - people that completely understood the land and cared for it accordingly. For over 35,000 years, the aboriginal people were the caretakers of this land and a couple of white fellas want to acknowledge that.
