Mick Fetch

Memories Of The Mail

from the Homecoming album.

After more than 20 years of playing music professionally, MICK FETCH thought it was time to release an album. Co-written with his mate KEVIN PYE, the album contains material with content that is dear to Mick, and in the style which started his interest in music. Homecoming is exactly that album, aptly named for the full circle Mick’s music has taken over the years, and also to celebrate his affinity with the Mudgee area and its people. With his routes planted firmly in the soil there, he could feel the rumblings of the mine machinery and progress. The old ways of the area, and for that matter rural Australia, are under threat of being forgotten with small communities being decimated by mining companies. It just feels good for Mick to write and sing about those times which hold so many fantastic childhood memories. The songs on Homecoming, including Mick’s new single release Memories Of The Mail, are tales of people, beer, trains, billy-carts, horses, and even a story about the time all the native birds and animals met in Mudgee for their AGM, the Mudgee Muster!
