Following the success of the title track from the current album Coals which enjoyed 4 weeks on top of the Country Tracks National Top 30 Singles chart, THE BOBKATZ release the album’s third single entitled Keen Eye For The Ordinary. Penned by GARRY KOEHLER, this song offers some advice for the younger generation and a reminder to our own not to get too caught up in the technology and fast pace of today and to keep a “keen eye” out for the ordinary things in life which are too commonly overlooked. “Don't miss the ordinary things like the smell of a flowering bloom, watching the river flow or walking in the light of the moon”. Producer and other half of The Bobkatz, ROBERT MACKAY adds “this works so well live as well as on the record. It's a very organic stripped back track featuring acoustic guitar, mandolin, vocal harmonies and a bit of harmonica but it’s the advice in the form of the lyrics which dominate the song. It says what our generation wants to say to the younger people of today and definitely something they need to hear. We also need to constantly remind ourselves to “Keep a keen eye for the Ordinary”.
